Scuba Diving + Short Safari

Your next adventure begins in Zanzibar

Over 10 unforgettable days, you’ll dive into vibrant coral reefs, witness wild Africa on safari, and walk ancient streets steeped in culture.

No more planning stress, solo travel fatigue, or uninspiring dive sites. Everything’s arranged so you can simply show up, breathe deeply, and enjoy every moment—from your first giant stride into turquoise waters to your last sunset over the savannah.

This is not just a vacation. It’s an experience to remember for a lifetime.

One Trip. Two Worlds. A Thousand Emotions.

You wake up to the sound of gentle waves and the scent of salt in the air. Within minutes, you’re gliding over vibrant reefs surrounded by schools of fish, graceful turtles, and coral gardens teeming with life. Each dive feels like opening a door to another world — quiet, weightless, deeply alive.

But it’s not just about what you see underwater.

It’s about sharing that look of awe after a night dive, laughing over local dishes at a beachside table, or watching the sun set behind a dhow while your group unwinds from a day full of wonder.

Then, just as the ocean has filled your heart, the land opens a new chapter: wild Africa. Lions in the distance, elephants at the river, stars scattered across the sky. You’ve traded the reefs for the savannah — and it’s just as magical.

This trip isn’t about ticking boxes. It’s about connection. With nature. With people. And with something inside you that maybe you hadn’t felt in a while.

Why This Trip Might Be Exactly What You Need

  • You crave a deeper connection to nature — not just as a tourist, but as a respectful explorer.
  • You’re curious about the world, excited to experience new cultures, foods, and landscapes beyond the beach.
  • You’re tired of diving alone or with random strangers — you want to share your passion with a tribe who “gets it.”
  • You want the best of both worlds: ocean and wildlife, group energy and personal space, adventure and rest.
  • You’re done with planning every detail yourself — and just want to feel safe, supported, and free to enjoy the journey.

This Trip Might Not Be for You If…

  • You prefer solo travel and don’t enjoy shared experiences with a group.
  • You’re looking for the cheapest possible dive trip without extras like safari or cultural tours.
  • You’re not comfortable stepping out of your comfort zone — whether that’s trying new food, waking up early, or getting a little dusty on safari.
  • You’re not willing to disconnect from fast-paced life and be present with nature, people, and yourself.

This diving in Zanzibar experience is made for those who want more than just a holiday; it’s for people craving something real.

First Time Diving in Zanzibar, Same Ocean Spirit

No reviews yet. This is our very first group adventure in Zanzibar, although I have already been in Zanzibar on my own some years ago.

But if you’re wondering what it feels like when passionate divers come together for unforgettable dives, shared sunsets, and effortless planning — just check out what other divers said about other trips.

Same energy, same soul — just trade papas arrugadas for spice-infused curries, and lava reefs for coral gardens off the Swahili coast.

Ready to be part of the first wave? Let’s make this one for the books.

Meet Your Guide (and Dive Buddy) for This Zanzibar Adventure

I’m Alessandra: Italian, diver, traveler… and the one behind The Ocean Explorers.

I’ve spent years exploring the ocean and organizing trips that go beyond just travel: they create real memories.

I’ve already been in Zanzibar but I wasn’t lucky enough to be able to dive, so this is the prefect time to do it!

I’m not here to give you the “expert speech,” but I will say this: I love connecting with people, making sure every detail is right, and being there from the first call to the final toast on the island.

If you join this trip, you won’t feel like just another number. You’ll feel like this was designed with you in mind.

You’re Closer Than You Think to Zanzibar’s Reefs

If your heart’s been saying “yes” while reading this — trust it.

This isn’t about rushing or fear of missing out. It’s about choosing a journey that feels aligned with who you are and what you need right now.

No pushy countdowns. No overpromising. Just real people, real adventure, and a plan that lets you dive deep — in every sense.

Take that first step. We’ll be right here to guide you through the rest.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking for more than just “a diving holiday,” then yes. This is a full experience: great people, exciting dives, and real memories.

Small group, expert local guidance, and logistics that make everything easy from the start.

Absolutely worth it — and here’s why.
Selous is not your average safari stop. It’s one of the largest protected wildlife reserves in Africa, yet far less crowded than places like the Serengeti. In just 36 hours, you’ll experience two different safari styles: a classic game drive across the savannah and a boat safari along the Rufiji River — where you might spot elephants, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, lions, and dozens of bird species.

You’ll also stay overnight in a lodge immersed in nature, under a sky full of stars. It’s not just about checking off animals — it’s about feeling the wild in your bones.

The safari is fully organized, includes all park fees, transportation, meals, and lodging — so you can just show up, breathe it all in, and enjoy an experience that’s likely to stay with you long after the trip ends.

Yes. A tourist VISA is required to enter Tanzania (Zanzibar included). The ordinary VISA costs 50 USD and is already forecasted in the trip cost.

You can apply online for an eVisa before your trip (https://visa.immigration.go.tz/), or obtain it on arrival at the airport. We’ll guide you through the process online proces so it’s quick and stress-free.

ZIC refers to the mandatory Zanzibar inbound travel insurance, managed by the state-owned Zanzibar Insurance Corporation.
It’s compulsory insurance for all foreign travelers entering Zanzibar. the price is USD 44 per adult and is already forecasted in the trip cost.

You will apply online via the official portal at (https://inbound.visitzanzibar.go.tz/) to receive a PDF certificate. We’ll guide you through the process.

Even if you have coverage from your home provider, Zanzibar immigration will only accept the ZIC certificate at entry check-in.

Your travel insurance must cover your stay in Zanzibar and the safari activities in Selous. We’ll provide some options. You also need a diving insurance.

There are no mandatory vaccines for travelers coming directly from Europe.
However, the Yellow Fever vaccine is required only if you’re arriving from (or transiting more than 12 hours in) a Yellow Fever risk country.

We also recommend checking with your doctor or travel clinic about optional vaccines like Hepatitis A or Typhoid for added peace of mind.

Expect warm, dry conditions: 27–32 °C air, 26–29 °C sea. Great visibility and minimal chance of rain.

Zanzibar has clinics and hospitals for basic care. For dive-related emergencies, the nearest hyperbaric chamber is located at Mnazi Mmoja Hospital in Stone Town.

Zanzibar’s waters are full of life and color, especially around Mnemba Atoll, one of the top dive sites in East Africa.

You can expect to see:
✔️ Green turtles, hawksbill turtles
✔️ Reef sharks (blacktip, whitetip)
✔️ Dolphins (bottlenose and humpback, often spotted from the boat)
✔️ Eagle rays, stingrays, and moray eels
✔️ Large schools of snappers, fusiliers, and trevallies
✔️ Colorful nudibranchs, scorpionfish, lionfish, and octopus
✔️ Hard and soft coral gardens with great macro life

Visibility is typically excellent (15–30m), water temperatures warm (26–29°C), and currents mild to moderate depending on the site — perfect for relaxed, scenic dives full of biodiversity.

Each dive has its surprises — but what’s guaranteed is a vibrant, healthy reef system and the joy of discovering it with fellow ocean lovers.

Most people come solo—and no one leaves without friends. We share laughs, dives, and lots of dinners. You won’t feel out of place.

We travel in small, friendly groups — usually 6 to 12 people — so everyone feels seen, safe, and connected. It’s a mix of solo travelers and couples, all united by a love for the ocean and discovery.
